Five major structural genes, vp14, vp19, vp24, vp26 and vp28, were PCR amplified from the genomic DNA of Indian isolate of the White Spot Syndrome Virus and cloned in pRSET B, a bacterial expression vector. The clones were sequenced, and BLAST analysis revealed that vp19 and vp28 gene sequences had certain differences from the sequences of similar genes of the isolates already reported.
