We performed a population study on a Taiwan population using a set of nine short tandem repeat (STR) loci and the amelogenin locus. Allele and genotype frequencies of the STR systems D3S1358, vWA, FGA, TH01, TPOX, CSF1PO, D5S818, D13S317 and D7S820 were determined by polymerase chain reaction followed by automated sequencer analysis.
