Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), amplified DNA fragments and denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis were used to investigate the STR locus HumVWA in a Qatari population sample (n = 200). Seven alleles were identified with frequencies ranging from 0.0125 to 0.3175. The distribution of genotypes fits the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
