[Determination of the frequency of the deltaF508 mutation among newborns in the city of Moscow and evaluation of the frequency of cystic fibrosis in the European part of Russia].

Data on the screening of 2273 newborns from Moscow for the presence of the delta F508 mutation are presented. Twenty carriers were identified. The mean mutation frequency in Russia was 0.005048; the incidence of cystic fibrosis was 1 per 12,300 newborns.
