A new multiplex PCR system, developed by the Forensic Science Service (FSS) in the United Kingdom, permits the coamplification and typing of six short tandem repeat (STR) loci: HUMFGA, D8S1179, HUMTHO1, HUMvWA, D18S51, D21S11 and the sex determining marker Amelogenin.
