Four mutants that show the delayed leaf senescence phenotype were isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana. Genetic analyses revealed that they are all monogenic recessive mutations and fall into three complementation groups, identifying three genetic loci controlling leaf senescence in Arabidopsis.
