L-Methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (MUT) is an adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl)-requiring mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the isomerization of L-methylmalonyl-CoA to succinyl-CoA. Inherited defects in the gene encoding this enzyme result in the mut forms of methylmalonic acidemia.
