Forty-one Trypanosoma cruzi stocks isolated from the Chilean vectors Triatoma infestans and Triatoma spinolai were characterized by pulse-field gel electrophoresis and Southern blotting with the cruzipain gene, and by schizodeme analysis of kinetoplast DNA with EcoRI and Msp I.
