Population genetic studies within VNTR locus D1S80 were carried out on a population sample from the north-eastern Poland. DNA extraction was performed using the Chelex method. DNA amplification was followed by high-resolution PAGE and silver staining (AMP-FLP technique). In 116 unrelated individuals 20 alleles were observed.
