It was recently demonstrated that endo-N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidases (ENGase) acting on N-glycosylproteins are produced by myxobacteria. In this study, it was shown that the secretion of ENGase during vegetative growth of Myxococcus xanthus was cell-density-dependent.
