Fukuyama type congenital muscular dystrophy (FCMD) is an autosomal recessive muscular dystrophy associated with an anomaly of the brain. We performed genetic linkage analyses using consanguineous FCMD families and localized the FCMD locus to chromosomes 9q31-33.
