The oxoaporphine alkaloids oxophoebine [1] and liriodenine [2] have been isolated from Xylopia aethiopica (Annonaceae). Both showed selective toxicity against DNA repair and recombination deficient mutants of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisae.
