The soybean SAUR (Small Auxin-Up RNA) genes are transcriptionally induced by exogenous auxins within a few minutes after hormone application. This response is specifically induced by auxins primarily in epidermal and cortical cells within elongation zones of hypocotyls and epicotyls.
