Spirochetes were isolated from earlobe tissues of shrews (Sorex unguiculatus, Sorex caecutiens, and Crocidura dsienezumi), voles (Clethrionomys rufocanus), and mice (Apodemus argenteus and Apodemus speciosus) captured in various localities in Japan.
