A patient suffering from a severe form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is presented (EDS type VII). The presence of bilateral congenital hip dislocation, generalized joint hypermobility and a soft hyperelastic skin with abnormal scarring suggested a specific collagen type I defect.
