There are three major groups of domestic cattle in East and Southeast Asia: European cattle, Zebu cattle, and Bali cattle. Ten restriction enzymes were used to analyze restriction site variants in the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in 178 individuals belonging to these three groups of cattle.
