Cytoplasmic dynein is a large molecular weight protein complex that functions as a microtubule-dependent, negative, end-directed "motor." Mutations in nudA, which encodes the heavy chain of cytoplasmic dynein, inhibit nuclear migration in Aspergillus nidulans.
