In the Brassicaceae, self-vs. nonself-recognition in self-incompatibility is controlled by sporophytic S-alleles. Haplotypes specifying both SRK (S-receptor kinase) and SLG (S-locus glycoprotein) are considered to play an important role in the recognition reactions.
