Gas chromatography of cuticular hydrocarbons was used to assess genetic similarity and heterozygosity between 18 sympatric populations of adult Ixodes ricinus ticks collected from Poland. Sixteen n-alkanes, 45 monomethylalkanes, and 36 dimethylalkanes were identified.
