From geographically distant populations of Drosophila melanogaster, the following mutant phenotypes with a wide spectrum of similar phenotypic variation were isolated: #89300 and #89386 from a population of Uman' (Ukraine) in 1989, and #920017, #921314, and #921503 from a population of Gorno-Altaisk (Altai) in 1992. A similar mutant phenotype (line #i13) was obtained by gamma-irradiation of the laboratory line...
