A maximum of 6 STR systems (TH01, VWA, ACTBP2, FES, F13B, D21S11) was investigated in 7 human populations (Germans, Turks, Moroccans, Japanese, Chinese, Papuans, Ovambos). In each population no deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were observed. Out of each population the phenotypes of 50 individuals (comprising 3 to 6 STRs) were randomly selected.
