Mutants were recovered in a population of cybrids formed following protoplast fusion between tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) cv UC82 and Lycopersicon pennellii Corr. The cybrids were identified as individuals with recombinant cytoplasmic genomes but only tomato nuclear genomes.
