PURPOSE: Inhibition of WEE1, a tyrosine kinase responsible for G2 arrest, results in premature mitotic entry and double-strand DNA breaks. Adavosertib is a selective, ATP-competitive, and small-molecule WEE1 kinase inhibitor.
