Providencia stuartii is emerging as an Extensively Drug-Resistant (XDR) pathogen commonly found in animals, insects, and in burned and immunocompromised conditions. The misuse of antibiotics in poultry feed causes the emergence of XDR bacteria in the poultry industry.
