The Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. complex is known for its complex genome and significant genetic variability. We used multilocus sequence typing (MLST) to study the genetic variability of Borrelia in five European countries: Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine, Finland and Bulgaria.
