Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome (HPS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by oculocutaneous albinism and systemic complications, including bleeding tendencies. While 11 genes associated with HPS have been identified, cases of HPS5 remain exceedingly rare, particularly in Japan.
