BACKGROUND: Canine circovirus (CanineCV) is a single-stranded circular DNA virus that infects domestic and wild canids in many countries. CanineCV is associated with gastroenteritis and diarrhea, respiratory disease, and generalized vasculitis leading to a fatal event.
