Inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs) are characterized by photoreceptor dysfunction or degeneration. Clinical and phenotypic overlap between IRDs makes the genetic diagnosis very challenging and comprehensive genomic approaches for accurate diagnosis are frequently required.
