Hypophosphatasia (HPP) is a rare genetic disorder mainly characterized by skeletal dysplasia that results from a deficiency in tissue-nonspecific alkaline phosphatase (TNSALP), which is encoded by the alkaline phosphatase (ALPL) gene.
