Due to increasing rates of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Neisseria gonorrhoeae, alternative treatments should be considered. To assess rifampicin's potential as a gonorrhea treatment, we used rpoB mutations to estimate rifampicin resistance in Austrian N. gonorrhoeae isolates.
