The hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) has been studied for its ability to induce the cell death and different genetic variations in normal and repair defective strains of bacteria (Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium) and of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) strains with different ploidy.
