BACKGROUND: Pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy (PDE) is due to biallelic variants in ALDH7A1 (PDE-ALDH7A1). ALDH7A1 encodes α-aminoadipic semialdehyde dehydrogenase in lysine catabolism.
