Rationale: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with cardiovascular disease and incident type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Seven OSA phenotypes, labeled on the basis of their most distinguishing polysomnographic features, have been shown to be differentially associated with incident cardiovascular disease.
