Deep vein thrombosis usually manifests as leg or pelvic vein thrombosis (DVT). The causes are either acquired or inherited and can also occur in combination. Early diagnosis and treatment of DVT can reduce the risk of pulmonary embolism and postthrombotic syndrome.
