Enterocytozoon bieneusi, an important microsporidian fungus, causes chronic diarrhea in humans and animals worldwide. Out of the 502 fecal samples from wild boars, 13 were positive for the E. bieneusi internal transcribed spacer region, with a prevalence of 2.6%.
