Highly pathogenic bovine papillomaviruses (BPVs) were detected and quantified for the first time using digital droplet polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) by liquid biopsy in 103 clinically healthy sheep. Overall, ddPCR detected BPVs in 68 blood samples (66%).
