The giant African land snail, Achatina fulica, is a pulmonate land snail of the Achatinidae family. The snail is native of East Africa and has spread to tropical and subtropical areas in different parts of the world. Achatina fulica is an important agricultural pests and the intermediate host for Angiostrongylus spp., especially Angiostrongylus cantonensis, which causes eosinophilic meningoencephalitis in humans....
