Tsetse flies of the palpalis group, particularly Glossina fuscipes, are the main vectors of human African trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness in Congo-Brazzaville. They transmit the deadly human parasite, Trypanosoma brucei gambiense and other trypanosomes that cause animal trypanosomiasis.
