In order to investigate the genetic diversity of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) strains currently circulating in the Republic of Ireland (ROI), the ORF5 gene from 17 field strains originating from four vaccinating commercial herds was sequenced and phylogenetically analysed.
