Bradyrhizobium elkanii USDA61 possesses a functional type III secretion system (T3SS) that controls host-specific symbioses with legumes. Here, we demonstrated that B. elkanii T3SS is essential for the nodulation of several southern Asiatic Vigna mungo cultivars.
