The clinical characteristics of genetic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (gCJD) with a V180I mutation in the PRNP gene (V180I gCJD) are unique: elderly-onset, gradual progression, sporadic fashion, and cortical oedematous hyper-intensity on diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI).
