INTRODUCTION: The ciliopathy "Joubert syndrome" was first described in 1969 by Dr. Marie Joubert and most subtypes follow an autosomal recessive inheritance. The complex disorder shows typical clinical features, such as hyperventilation, abnormal eye movements, and retardation.
