A Gram-stain-negative, alkaliphilic and moderately halophilic bacterium, designated 56-L4-10aEnT, was isolated from a household product plant in China. Cells of the novel isolate were rod-shaped, non-spore-forming and non-motile. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain 56-L4-10aEnT belongs to the genus Halomonas, with the six closest neighbours being Halomonas mongoliensis...
