AIM: Limited information is currently available about the prevalence of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) in Romania. MATERIALS & METHODS: Routine tests of 1,993 clinical isolates at a hospital in Iaşi yielded 46 isolates that were resistant to carbapenems.
