KEY MESSAGE: Quantitative disease resistance is used by plant breeders to improve host resistance. We demonstrate a role for a maize remorin ( ZmREM6.3 ) in quantitative resistance against northern leaf blight using high-resolution fine mapping, expression analysis, and mutants.
