Carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae have emerged as an important pathogens in nosocomial infections with high mortality rate. Although the modified Hodge test (MHT) is recommended for phenotypic detection of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae, high false-positive rates were reported for MHT results.
