Genotyping of hepatitis C virus has an important prognostic value for response to antiviral therapy. The results of hepatits C virus genotyping performed between 1994 and 2012 from 1,766 patients of different regions of Chile are reported. Global genotype (Gt) distribution was as follows: 7.87% Gt1a, 72.71% Gt1b, 1.98% Gt2, 16.53% Gt3a, 0.57% Gt4, 0.28% Gt5a and 0.06% Gt6. In most regions the genotype...
