BACKGROUND: Skin cancer detection is based on the macroscopic and microscopic appearance of the lesions and the experience of the surgeon. The final diagnosis is done by pathological analysis, based on established criteria. Currently, there is no serum marker that can be used for the diagnosis of skin cancer.
