21 patients with rudimentary ovary syndrome were studied with a review of the literature. Rudimentary ovary syndrome is one of the syndromes of primary ovarian failure characterised by limited ovarian function around puberty. Some cases are associated with chromosomal abnormalities, some others may be due to immunologic defect. Treatment considerations are discussed.
