Data are presented on blood group, serum protein and red cell enzyme polymorphisms in a sample of Transkei Bantu. The gene frequencies, compared with those in other populations in Southern Africa, show general similarity to other Bantu from Transkei and neighbouring regions, and particularly to the southern Sotho and Nguni.
